Sound and audio translator wristband for deaf and hard-of-hearing.

Alto is a wristband, translates live or recorded music, into sensible vibration patterns.

The music being played is sampled, filtered, and processed into an array of sound features. Related clusters of sound features are distributed across a grid of vibration units in ergonomically designed end-user wristband.With this innovative wearable, the deaf and hard-of-hearing can immediately sense complex rhythms in the music. With practice, they learn to interpret the recurring vibration patterns into a rich music experience, including being able to distinguish among the instruments being played.
